A BIT ABOUT THE PROJECT

The March of the Automata is a two-phase design project where teams of Mechanical Engineers use their creativity and mechanism construction skills to create an all-terrain walking automaton. Our team designed a Marching Illini drumming character. The design is intended to inspire and engage students, especially elementary-aged ones, in mechanism design that represents the university and engages creativity and curiosity.

ABOUT ME

Allison Brown, Mechanical Engineer

I'm a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I love leading teams and utilizing the unique skills and roles each member brings. Seeing people find ownership in their contributions inspires and excites me, and I love being able to add my own creative touch to classic mechanical design.
